📉 Decrease in Grain Exports from Kazakhstan: In July 2024, Kazakhstan's grain exports fell by 38% compared to July 2023.

🌾 Wheat in Decline: Wheat export volumes decreased by 43%, possibly due to reduced demand or increased competition in the global market.

🚜 Other Grain Category Shows Growth: The "other grain" category saw a 53% increase, driven by crop diversification and the exploration of new markets.

In July 2024, Kazakhstan's rail-based grain exports totaled 376,000 tons, which is 38% less than the 605,000 tons exported in July 2023. This decline affected most major crops, except for the "other grains" category, which experienced significant growth.

Wheat remains the primary export crop; however, its volumes dropped by 43%, from 538,000 tons in July 2023 to 305,000 tons in July 2024. Possible reasons for this decline include reduced global market demand or intensified competition from other exporting countries.

Barley exports fell by 3%, from 32,700 tons to 31,500 tons.

Oilseeds exports decreased by 8%, from 20,000 tons to 18,000 tons. This slight drop may be due to temporary logistical challenges or fluctuations in demand.

The "other grains" category saw a 53% increase in exports, from 14,000 tons to 21,000 tons. The likely cause of this growth is the diversification of exported crops and the exploration of new markets.

An analysis of July’s data shows a decline in volumes during each of its three periods. The first 10 days of July saw a 39% decrease, the second 10 days saw a 16% decrease, and the third 10 days experienced the most significant drop of 52%, from 278,000 tons to 134,000 tons. The reduction in demand may be related to the lower quality of leftover grain from Kazakhstan's previous harvest.
