Kazakhstan Exported 9 Million Tons of New Harvest Grain — a 60% Increase

Record grain export: Kazakhstan shipped 9 million tons of new harvest in 2024–2025

In the current agricultural season, Kazakhstan is demonstrating unprecedented grain export growth. According to data from the national railway operator "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy," from September 2024 to June 2025, the country exported 9 million tons of new harvest grain to foreign markets. This figure is 60% higher than the volume for the same period in the previous season (2023–2024), highlighting Kazakhstan’s significantly strengthened position on the international stage.

Central Asia: Stability and Growth
Central Asia and neighboring countries remain the core destinations for Kazakhstan’s grain exports, continuing to increase their purchases. The distribution of major volumes is as follows:
Uzbekistan remains the main importer, purchasing 3.3 million tons, which is a 32% increase compared to the previous season.
Tajikistan increased its imports by 45%, reaching 1.2 million tons.
Afghanistan showed a 46% rise, importing 309 thousand tons.
Kyrgyzstan nearly doubled its imports, with a 94% increase to 233 thousand tons.
The consistently strong demand from these partners confirms their strategic importance for Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.

Caspian Breakthrough: Phenomenal Growth in Exports to Iran and Azerbaijan
A major breakthrough this season has been the surge in exports to Caspian states, which have demonstrated explosive growth:
• Exports to Iran reached 974 thousand tons, an increase of 17.5 times.
• Shipments to Azerbaijan grew to 707 thousand tons116 times more than in the previous period.
This phenomenal growth is directly linked to the active development of transport infrastructure, particularly international Trans-Caspian corridors. Strengthened trade and economic relations with Tehran and Baku are opening new, promising markets for Kazakhstan’s agricultural producers.
