Kazakh Farmers Have Prepared Almost 28 Million Tonnes of Feed

Farms have prepared 22.8 million tonnes of hay and 2.1 million tonnes of haylage

Kazakhstan continues to prepare feed for the upcoming winter housing period. According to operational data from regional akimats, agricultural producers have already prepared 27.9 million tonnes of various types of feed. This represents approximately 67% of the planned volume.

Hay accounts for the largest share of the accumulated reserves. To date, farmers have prepared 22.8 million tonnes, fulfilling 89% of the plan.

The volume of prepared haylage has reached 2.1 million tonnes, or 90% of the planned amount. In addition, farms have prepared 1 million tonnes of concentrated feed, 446,200 tonnes of silage and 1.5 million tonnes of straw.

To provide livestock farms with additional feed resources and create a reserve stock, Food Contract Corporation JSC has established a separate feed grain fund.

Its volume amounts to 201,300 tonnes of grain. If necessary, this reserve may be used to provide agricultural producers with feed resources during the winter livestock housing period.

Feed preparation activities are currently continuing in all regions of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Agriculture, together with regional akimats, is monitoring the progress of the campaign. The volumes of feed preparation and the formation of the necessary reserves are being monitored.

This work is aimed at providing livestock farms with a sufficient feed base and ensuring stable conditions during the upcoming winter housing period.
