Kazakhstan's Agricultural Sector: Results and Records of 2024

Harvested 26.7 million tons of grain, including 19.8 million tons of wheat

Over the first 11 months of this year, the gross agricultural output in Kazakhstan increased by 13.4%, exceeding the annual target of 11.6%, and reached 7.8 trillion tenge. The main growth drivers were higher production volumes in crop and livestock sectors, timely government support measures, and favorable natural conditions.

 Production growth: +19.9%.

 Average yield: 16.1 quintals per hectare.

 Grain harvest: 26.7 million tons, including:

 19.8 million tons of wheat.

 563,000 tons of rice.

 Vegetables: 3.9 million tons.

 Oilseeds: 3.2 million tons.

2️⃣ Livestock Production

 Production growth: +3.2%.

 Volume increases:

 Meat: +4%.

 Milk: +4.4%.

 Eggs: +1.2%.

 

3️⃣ Food Production

 Growth: +2.1%, reaching almost 3 trillion tenge.

 Significant increases in import-dependent products:

 Cheese and curd: +8.7%.

 Sausages: +4.1%.

 Butter: +2.9%.

 Vegetable oil: +12%.

 

Key Government Support Measures

 The Ministry of Agriculture highlighted several initiatives that were crucial for the sector's success in 2024:

 Tripling concessional financing for spring fieldwork to 580 billion tenge, doubling the amount of applied fertilizers to 1.2 million tons.

 

Plans for 2025

 Spring and harvest fieldwork financing: 700 billion tenge.

 200 billion tenge for concessional agricultural machinery leasing.

 Fertilizer use: 1.9 million tons.

 Increasing the share of elite seeds to 10.5%.

 Agricultural machinery renewal rate to reach 5.5%.

 A record sugar beet harvest is being finalized, which is expected to make a significant contribution to total agricultural output. Growth is also planned through the processing of grain and oilseeds, as well as increased sugar production.

 The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes that all necessary measures to support the sector will continue to ensure further agricultural growth and achievement of planned targets.

 2024 has been a successful year for Kazakhstan's agricultural sector, with ambitious tasks ahead to increase production volumes, develop processing, and modernize technologies.
