Kazhydromet Expects Above-Normal Corn Yields in Several Regions

Long-term average levels are expected to be exceeded in selected districts of four regions

In certain districts of Kazakhstan, grain corn yields in 2026 may exceed long-term average levels. These figures are provided by Kazhydromet in its final forecast, prepared taking into account the current and expected agrometeorological conditions.

According to specialists’ calculations, in the Zhetysu Region, corn yields are expected to be above the long-term average in the Eskeldinsky and Karatalsky districts. In the Panfilovsky district, the figure is forecast to be around normal levels.

In the Almaty Region, yields above the long-term average are expected in the Enbekshikazakhsky and Iliysky districts. In the Uygursky and Talgarsky districts, according to the forecast, yields are expected to remain approximately at normal levels.

In the Zhambyl Region, yields above the long-term average are forecast in the Sarysusky and Baizaksky districts. In the Kordaisky, Merkensky, Zhambylsky and Shusky districts, corn yields are expected to remain around long-term average levels.

In the Turkestan Region, above-normal yields are forecast in the Ordabasinsky, Otrarsky and Shardarinsky districts.

In the Maktaaralsky and Saryagashsky districts, as well as in the city of Turkestan, corn yields are expected to remain approximately at long-term average levels, according to Kazhydromet’s calculations.
