1,900 Hectares of Unused Pastureland Returned to the State in North Kazakhstan Region
A violation of land legislation was identified in Akkaiyn District, prompting the Land Resources Management Department to file a lawsuit
A 1,900-hectare agricultural land plot has been returned to state ownership in Akkaiyn District of Kazakhstan's North Kazakhstan Region. The land was seized because the pastureland had not been used for its designated purpose.
The violation was identified during an inspection conducted by the Land Resources Management Department of the Land Resources Management Committee under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Under Kazakhstan's land legislation, plots allocated for peasant or farming operations, as well as agricultural production, may be subject to compulsory seizure in accordance with established legal procedures. This measure applies if the land remains unused for its designated purpose for one year from the date the violation was initially identified.
To address the identified violation and return the land plot to state ownership, the department filed a corresponding lawsuit with the Specialized Interdistrict Economic Court of North Kazakhstan Region, seeking compulsory seizure of the land.
Following the court proceedings, the Land Resources Management Department's claims were upheld in full. As a result, the land plot covering a total area of 1,900 hectares was returned to the state.
Kazakhstan continues its efforts to identify unused agricultural land and return it to state ownership in accordance with existing legislation.
