Around 40% of the New Grain Harvest in Akmola Region Meets Hi-Pro Standards

At the initial stage of the harvesting campaign in Kazakhstan's Akmola Region, 85.6 thousand tonnes of grain have been harvested. The distinguishing feature of this year's crop is its high quality: approximately 40% of the harvested grain meets international premium Hi-Pro standards, according to the regional administration.

According to the administration, the high gluten content and excellent baking qualities make Akmola wheat highly sought after in international markets. In particular, it is used for the production of pasta and premium-grade flour. The Yesil and Zharkain districts traditionally lead the region in both harvesting progress and grain quality.

Tatyana Shelaeva, Leading Researcher at the A.I. Barayev Research and Production Center for Grain Farming, noted that the high quality of the grain is the result of a combination of favorable natural conditions, the genetic potential of modern varieties, and adherence to scientifically based agricultural technologies. These include proper crop rotation, balanced application of mineral fertilizers, and timely crop protection.

In the current season, the total sown area of agricultural crops in Akmola Region amounts to 5.6 million hectares. Of this, 4.5 million hectares are occupied by grain and leguminous crops, while another 840 thousand hectares are planted with oilseed crops.

To ensure a successful harvesting campaign, farmers have been allocated 81.2 thousand tonnes of subsidized diesel fuel. More than 14.5 thousand units of agricultural machinery are operating in the fields. In addition, 433 thousand tonnes of mineral fertilizers have been applied to the soil, which is 1.7 times higher than the level recorded two years ago.

The region's grain storage infrastructure has a total capacity of 7.3 million tonnes, including 67 grain receiving facilities and approximately 1,500 farm storage warehouses, ensuring the complete preservation of the harvested crop.
