In November 2025, John Deere launched a new Competence Center for Used Harvesting Equipment in the German city of Zweibrücken. Investments in the project amounted to 5 million euros, and it is designed to create a separate business area for the company, focused on the restoration and sale of used cars.

According to the John Deere concept, the equipment comes from dealers, is refurbished at the site in Zweibrücken and then offered to customers with a factory warranty. In addition, service contracts are available and customers can choose from an existing range of machines or order an individual configuration.

The center offers two levels of quality of refurbished equipment. The first option is "ready to use", in which only defective parts are replaced. The second is "like new", with the replacement of durable components and the ability to install modern technological solutions on old models.

John Deere Business and Marketing Manager Klaus Kellner notes that buying refurbished equipment can save up to 50% or more, depending on the configuration. According to the company's vice president of sales and marketing in Europe, John Thomassen, the demand for used cars is two to three times higher than the demand for new ones.

The Zweibrücken Competence Center is the first project of its kind in the world for John Deere. It is not yet known whether similar facilities will open in other countries, but the company has already developed a plan for its operation in Germany.
