Preparation for the 2026 Season Begins: Ministry of Agriculture Fixes Fertilizer Prices
State support, fixed ammophos prices and financing through the Agrarian Credit Corporation
Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector has entered an active phase of preparation for the 2026 sowing campaign, relying on updated state financing mechanisms. According to operational data from the профиль ministry, financing limits totaling KZT 17 billion have already been approved through the Agrarian Credit Corporation for the first 126 farms.
The scale of the upcoming work is further confirmed by the volume of applications currently under review: an additional 235 producers are seeking approximately KZT 76 billion in loan financing. These figures align with the successful experience of the previous season, when state support amounting to KZT 501.5 billion enabled around 7,000 farmers to sow more than 7 million hectares.
Alongside the distribution of financial resources, a logistics campaign for the delivery of mineral fertilizers has also commenced across the country. This year, pricing policy in the agrochemical segment has taken on clearer parameters following the signing of a memorandum between the Ministry of Agriculture and Kazphosphate LLP. The price of ammophos for 2026 has been fixed at KZT 254,000 per tonne, excluding VAT.
Despite a 15% increase compared to last year’s level, the fixed price allows farmers to forecast production costs in advance and protects them from market volatility during the peak season.
At present, market participants have moved to the stage of finalizing direct contracts and establishing delivery schedules to ensure uninterrupted supply to fields ahead of the start of spring fieldwork.
