Kazakhstan Increases Its Pedigree Livestock Population
KZT 80 billion has been allocated for the implementation of the Comprehensive Livestock Development Plan for 2026–2030
Kazakhstan continues to renew its pedigree population of farm animals. The work is aimed at improving the genetic potential of herds, increasing animal productivity, and expanding milk and meat production.
KZT 80 billion has been allocated for the implementation of the Comprehensive Livestock Development Plan for 2026–2030. Under the program, Kazakhstan plans to purchase 40,000 head of cattle and 20,000 head of small livestock.
This year, 7,234 head of cattle have already been imported into Kazakhstan from countries outside the near abroad.
Work to replenish farms with pedigree livestock is continuing in several regions of the country.
In the Turkistan Region, another batch of 165 Holstein cattle from Denmark was delivered to the Asia Milk dairy farm. Including the previous shipment, the total number of animals imported from Denmark for this farm has reached 330 head.
Previously, two other farms in the region each received 165 Holstein cattle from Denmark. The Mailyken Farm received 165 head, while another 165 head were delivered to Dar Organik.
In the North Kazakhstan Region, work continues to stock the dairy complex of Budennoye SK LLP. Another batch of 165 Holstein heifers was delivered from Germany.
This was the fifth shipment for the enterprise. As a result, the total number of imported animals has reached 825 head. The farm plans to import a total of 1,200 head.
Construction of the dairy complex was completed in the autumn of last year. The enterprise then began gradually building up its herd and launching production processes.
The first animals arrived at the farm earlier this year. The farm received its first calves in March. Once all planned deliveries are completed, the complex will be fully stocked with imported livestock.
Herd renewal is also underway in the East Kazakhstan Region. A total of 224 Holstein heifers were delivered to the dairy farm of Moiyldy-Baikonur LLP from the Perm Region of the Russian Federation.
The farm’s production capacity is designed for 1,075 head of cattle. The enterprise is equipped with modern equipment and the necessary agricultural machinery and also has its own feed base.
The farm has more than 4,500 hectares of arable land at its disposal, which is used to meet the herd’s feed requirements.
Implementation of the planned measures enables agricultural producers to gradually renew their herds, increase animal productivity, and expand production capacity.
The ongoing work is aimed at increasing domestic milk and meat production, improving the efficiency of agricultural enterprises, and strengthening their production base.
