The digital system will replace the data of district akimats when collecting statistics in animal husbandry.

Digitalization vs. falsification: how the ILI system will replace akimat reports.

The Bureau of National Statistics intends to radically change the approach to collecting information, gradually abandoning the reports of district akimats. The main reason is the systematic distrust of these figures on the part of farmers and industry experts.

The problem of data reliability is not just a bureaucratic nuance. It is these figures that the state relies on when deciding how much subsidies to allocate or whether to restrict the export of products. However, in practice, akims, often interested in beautiful reporting, provided data that did not always coincide with reality. The scale of the discrepancies became obvious in 2023: then, during a joint inspection of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Bureau of National Statistics, millions had to be written off from the "paper" non-existent heads of cattle, as well as hundreds of thousands of tons of milk and potatoes.

As explained by the deputy head of the Bureau Asel Shauenova in the Senate, since 2024, the department has received more powers to check the quality of data. Now statisticians have direct access to the system "Identification of Farm Animals" (ILI). Now work is underway to correct errors in this database. According to Shauenova, the Bureau regularly points out to the Ministry of Agriculture the shortcomings of the system, which are promptly eliminated, which has already led to a reduction in discrepancies.

The department's plan is very clear: if the digital accounting in the ILI system confirms its reliability and quality, it will become the only official source of information. In this case, the data provided by rural akims will finally become a thing of the past.
