Gypsum is a dry composition made on the basis of a natural mineral - gypsum stone. The mineral is a dihydrate calcium sulfate - CaSO4·2H2O.
Gypsum is a mineral of sedimentary origin. In nature, it is most often found in the form of elongated prismoid crystals, although sometimes it is formed in the form of dense tablet or scaly aggregations. The mineral is quite soft and easy to grind.
Raw-ground gypsum is a fine powder of extremely white or light gray color, obtained by grinding and firing (or exactly the opposite - firing and grinding) natural gypsum stone.
Its undeniable advantages include environmental cleanliness, non-flammability, as well as the ability to "breathe". Highly soluble in water.
