Description
Sorbic acid (E200) is a safe food preservative, naturally occurring, used to inhibit the growth of mold, yeast, and bacteria in foods such as juices, cheeses, baked goods, caviar, prolonging shelf life. It is non-toxic, does not affect the taste and smell of food, but is effective only in slightly acidic environments (pH < 6.5). It is used in the food, cosmetics and tobacco industries.
