Kazakhstan Plans to Launch Exports of Goat Meat and Halal Meat to the UAE and India via LuLu Group Network
Kazakhstan explores new halal meat export channels to the Middle East and South Asia
Kazakh livestock producers may gain access to new sales channels in the markets of the Middle East and South Asia. The prospects for supplying meat products were discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, and representatives of international retail companies.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture held talks with Mohidin Hussein Faisal, Chief Executive Officer of Lulu Kazakhstan, and Gunasilan Ayothi Daniel, founder of IGateway Ltd. The key focus of the discussions was the expansion of trade and economic cooperation and the development of concrete mechanisms for exporting domestic livestock products.
The foreign partners expressed specific demand for Kazakh goat meat, as well as for a wide range of halal-certified meat products. Investors emphasized that the products must strictly comply with international veterinary and sanitary regulations and quality standards. Particular attention was paid to the rapidly growing consumer market of India, which offers significant opportunities for the sale of Kazakh products.
Aidarbek Saparov highlighted the strong potential of Kazakhstan’s livestock sector and confirmed the country’s readiness to increase export volumes. The Minister stressed the importance of full compliance with veterinary requirements and the need to ensure stable supplies, which is a key condition for long-term partnerships.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue detailed work on cooperation. Three priority areas have been identified at this stage:

Coordination of veterinary certification issues.

Development of logistics chains.

Establishment of direct B2B contacts between Kazakh producers and Indian importers.
Background: LuLu Group International is a major international holding engaged in retail trade as well as food export and import operations. The group operates its own meat processing facilities in the UAE and India, making it a strategic partner for Kazakhstan’s agribusiness sector.
