May 2024: Kazakhstan Increases Import of Grain Processing Products

 

In May 2024, Kazakhstan significantly increased its import of cereals and flakes, reaching a record monthly volume for the last three seasons. According to the Committee of State Revenues of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, more than 12,500 tons of these products were imported into the country, which is 5.4 times the figures for April. The import of wheat flour also showed significant growth, increasing by 26% compared to April's figures and amounting to 8,100 tons, the highest monthly result since November 2023.

 

From July 2023 to May 2024, the import volume of cereals and flakes reached 34,000 tons, and wheat flour — 68,900 tons. This is 65% and four times higher, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous season.

 

It is worth noting that 99% of these goods were imported from the Russian Federation.
