Meadow fescue (Festuca pratensis) is a perennial loose grass that is widespread both in fodder production and in landscaping. The leaves are broadly linear, green and dark green, 16.0-45.0 cm long, 0.5-2.5 cm wide, slightly rough with a short tongue at the base, the leaf sheaths are closed along the entire length. Inflorescence is a panicle, 20-35 cm long, with a large number of spikelets, slightly drooping. Before flowering, the panicle is compressed, during flowering it is spreading, with hanging bright yellow anthers.
