Kazakhstan's Grain and Flour Exports Reach 15.5 Million Tonnes
In the first 20 days of September, grain shipments to China increased 2.5-fold, while exports to Uzbekistan rose by 20%
At the end of the 2025/2026 marketing year, Kazakhstan exported 15.5 million tonnes of grain and flour in grain equivalent, continuing to supply domestically produced grain products to foreign markets.
The export geography of Kazakh grain and processed grain products includes countries in Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
Growth in transportation volumes has continued in the current period. According to JSC NC Qazaqstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), 852 thousand tonnes of grain were transported during the first 20 days of September 2026. This figure increased by 7% compared with the same period last year.
Of the total volume, 674 thousand tonnes of grain were shipped for export. Export transportation increased by 10% compared with the same period last year.
Higher shipment volumes were recorded across several major export destinations. During the first 20 days of September, 319 thousand tonnes of grain were exported to Uzbekistan, which is 20% higher than in the same period last year.
Grain shipments to Tajikistan reached 116 thousand tonnes, an increase of 21%. During the same period, 101 thousand tonnes were exported to China — 2.5 times more than in the corresponding period last year.
At the same time, transportation volumes of processed grain products are also increasing. During the first 20 days of September, shipments of grain milling products amounted to 134 thousand tonnes, which is 24% more than in the same period last year.
Thus, in the current period, shipments to foreign markets increased for both grain and processed grain products.
