State inspectors identified 121 plant quarantine violations in supplies from EAEU countries

Inspections revealed systemic violations of plant quarantine requirements

Since the beginning of 2026, 121 violations of plant quarantine legislation have been identified during the import of regulated products from Eurasian Economic Union countries into Kazakhstan. The violations were recorded by state plant quarantine inspectors of the KGI in the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan following inspections conducted in January.

As part of quarantine phytosanitary control, the import of products that did not meet established requirements was prevented. The main causes of the violations were the absence of phytosanitary certificates, discrepancies in accompanying documentation, lack of mandatory labeling, and failure to present goods for secondary inspection.

In particular, 85 cases of failure to submit regulated products for secondary inspection and 11 violations of phytosanitary standards were recorded. In addition, cases of non-compliant phytosanitary certificates, missing labeling, and detection of quarantine objects were identified.

Based on the results of the inspections, individuals who violated plant quarantine legislation were brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with Article 400 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
