Inflation in Kazakhstan slowed to 11% in March

A slowdown in price growth was recorded across all major categories of goods and services

In March 2026, the annual inflation rate in Kazakhstan reached 11%, decreasing by 0.7 percentage points compared to February. Monthly price growth also slowed to 0.6%. The deceleration of inflation was observed across all major groups of goods and services, according to the Bureau of National Statistics.

Over the month, prices for food products increased by 0.7%, paid services by 0.6%, and non-food goods by 0.5%.

Among food items, prices decreased in March for cucumbers by 22.6%, onions by 10.9%, tomatoes by 2.6%, cabbage by 1.9%, buckwheat by 1.2%, and chocolate-coated candies by 0.9%. At the same time, prices increased for sweet peppers by 10.7%, bananas by 5.4%, beets and carrots by 4.2% each, kefir with 2–3% fat content by 2.3%, honey by 1.8%, and sugar cookies and beef liver by 1.3% each.

On an annual basis, prices for food products rose by 11.7%, non-food goods by 11.3%, and paid services by 10%.

At the same time, in annual terms, prices decreased for cucumbers by 40.9%, tomatoes by 16.5%, eggplants by 14.8%, and rice by 5%. Meanwhile, prices increased for apples by 13.5%, oatmeal by 12.9%, noodles by 12%, and black tea by 6.7%.
