Kazakh farmers have sown nearly 9 million hectares of agricultural crops

Thousands of units of agricultural machinery have been deployed across the country for the sowing campaign

Spring sowing continues in Kazakhstan. According to current information from local government offices, crops have been sown on 8.9 million hectares.

Grain crops account for the majority of this area, covering 5.5 million hectares. Oilseeds are planted on 2.3 million hectares, and forage crops on 642,000 hectares. Cotton is planted on 166,000 hectares, vegetables occupy 102,000 hectares, melons on 77,000 hectares, potatoes on 93,000 hectares, and sugar beets on 22,000 hectares.

Sowing continues at an active pace in the country's key grain-growing regions. In the Akmola region, 2 million hectares have been sown, and in the Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions, 1.3 million hectares each.

In the southern and southeastern regions, spring sowing is nearing completion. In the Zhambyl region, 98.1% of the planned sowing volume has been completed, in the Zhetisu region – 97.5%, and in the Almaty region – 96.1% of the sowing campaign is complete.

To carry out the campaign, the country's agricultural enterprises have 133,900 tractors, approximately 5,600 high-performance seeding complexes, 71,400 seeders, and 188,500 tillage implements. Technical support for farmers is provided by 70 service centers.

Providing farmers with mineral fertilizers remains a priority in preparing for and conducting the sowing campaign.

Fertilizer application volumes are planned for 2026 at 2.3 million tons. According to local government administrations, contracts for the supply of 1.4 million tons of fertilizer have been signed to date, of which 1.2 million tons have already been shipped.

To increase the availability of mineral fertilizers, regional budgets for 2026 have allocated 56.3 billion tenge to subsidize their cost.
