Kazakhstan and Georgia Sign New Veterinary Certificates for Export of Livestock Products

Four new veterinary certificates pave the way for Kazakhstan’s livestock and meat exports to Georgia

As part of the 92nd General Session of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), a working meeting took place between Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Agriculture, Amangaliy Berdalin, and Deputy Head of Georgia’s National Food Agency, Vasil Basiladze.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of veterinary control and trade in animal-origin products. Particular attention was paid to simplifying export procedures, harmonizing veterinary requirements, and strengthening institutional collaboration.

The meeting resulted in significant progress: four forms of veterinary certificates were signed, providing official authorization for the export of live and slaughtered animals — including cattle, small ruminants, pigs, and pork — from Kazakhstan to Georgia. These documents establish a solid legal foundation for expanding the supply of Kazakhstani livestock products to the Georgian market.

The Kazakh delegation expressed gratitude to the Georgian side for the prompt coordination of the documents and emphasized the importance of the agreements reached in broadening the geography of Kazakhstan’s agricultural exports.

The conclusion of the new certificates marks an important step in strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries, while also boosting the competitiveness of Kazakhstani livestock products in foreign markets.
