📰 China Promotes Whole Grain Consumption: What Does It Mean?

China is launching a program (2024–2035) to boost whole grain consumption as part of its food security strategy

Chinese authorities are stepping up efforts to strengthen food security. Earlier this week, a new program was introduced, covering the period from 2024 to 2035. The initiative aims to increase the consumption of whole grains across various regions of the country.

The program, developed by the National Administration of Food and Strategic Reserves in collaboration with other government agencies, focuses on encouraging local governments, companies, and public organizations to establish development funds that support the growth of the whole grain industry.

According to the program, whole grain retains its structure after removing inedible parts, preserving its natural nutrients and active components. Whole grain products, made from these grains, are recognized for their enhanced health benefits.
