Volume of Feed Prepared in Kazakhstan Exceeds 33 Million Tonnes

Kazakhstan continues its feed preparation campaign to ensure that livestock farms have sufficient feed for the upcoming winter housing period. According to operational data from regional administrations, 33.1 million tonnes of various types of feed have been prepared across the country to date. This represents approximately 80% of the planned volume.

Hay accounts for the largest share of the accumulated stocks, with 25.3 million tonnes prepared. In addition, agricultural producers have prepared 2.5 million tonnes of straw, 2.3 million tonnes of haylage, 1.6 million tonnes of concentrated feed and 1.4 million tonnes of silage.

The largest volume of feed has been prepared in the Turkistan Region at 5.02 million tonnes. The figure reached 3.25 million tonnes in the Zhambyl Region and 3.11 million tonnes in the Almaty Region. A further 2.58 million tonnes have been prepared in the West Kazakhstan Region and 2.43 million tonnes in the North Kazakhstan Region.

To ensure stable conditions during the upcoming winter housing period and create contingency stocks, JSC Food Contract Corporation has formed a feed grain reserve amounting to 201.3 thousand tonnes of grain.

If necessary, this reserve is expected to be used to provide agricultural producers with the required feed resources.

Feed preparation activities are continuing in all regions of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Agriculture, together with regional administrations, continuously monitors the progress of the feed preparation campaign. Monitoring the situation and forming reserves in a timely manner are aimed at providing livestock farms with the necessary feed base and ensuring stable conditions throughout the upcoming winter housing period.
