This year, Kazakhstan has achieved record figures in the transportation of grain processing products. Over the first ten months, the volume of transported flour and other processed grain products totaled 2.9 million tons, surpassing annual results of the past five years and showing an 11% growth compared to the same period last year.

Kostanay region has made the largest contribution to flour processing and shipment, accounting for half of the total volume. Akmola region ranks second with a 17% share. In September and October alone, over 0.5 million tons of new harvest grain were transported for processing and further shipment.

Central Asian countries remain the primary importers of Kazakh flour. Afghanistan has led the demand with 788,000 tons purchased, followed by Uzbekistan (454,000 tons), Tajikistan (57,000 tons), Turkmenistan (28,000 tons), and Kyrgyzstan (23,000 tons). There is also significant growth in the Chinese market, where the export volume has exceeded 0.5 million tons in ten months, up 48% compared to the previous year.

To support stable supply, Kazakhstan’s railway network is equipped with over 15,000 covered wagons, ensuring uninterrupted transportation. Operational headquarters have been established within Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and at regional levels to coordinate and monitor the transport of grain and its processed products, addressing issues as they arise.
