Kazakhstan Expands Sugar Beet Processing Capacity

Ministry of Agriculture Continues Work to Expand Sugar Beet Planting Areas

Kazakhstan is preparing for the sugar beet harvesting campaign and the upcoming processing season. Industry enterprises are working to increase production capacity and prepare for the arrival of the new harvest.

One of the key enterprises is the Koksu Sugar Plant. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the plant is currently capable of processing 2 thousand tonnes of sugar beet per day.

As part of the plant's modernization, its production capacity is planned to be increased to 3 thousand tonnes per day. The relevant work is expected to be completed in October of this year.

An expansion of processing capacity is also planned at the Taraz Sugar Plant. In October, the enterprise plans to complete the installation of a new production line with a capacity of 3 thousand tonnes per day.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture continues its work to expand sugar beet planting areas across the country.

This year, 23.8 thousand hectares have been planted with sugar beet in Kazakhstan. The majority of the crop's planting areas are concentrated in the Zhambyl and Zhetisu regions.
