Development of Veterinary Infrastructure: Modern Service Points Open in Zhambyl Region

60 new veterinary points: several are already operating, 20 more will be completed in 2025

Zhambyl Region is actively implementing systemic initiatives to strengthen its veterinary services as part of the government’s "Roadmap for Increasing Gross Agricultural Production for 2024–2028". The main goal is to establish an efficient and accessible network of veterinary service points that meet modern standards and contribute to improved epizootic safety in rural areas.

Since 2024, the region has launched the construction of 40 new veterinary facilities, some of which are already operational. An additional 20 points are planned to be completed this year. One of these new facilities was presented to the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, during his working visit.

The facility, built according to a standard design and commissioned in March 2025, is fully equipped to provide high-quality veterinary services in rural communities. A key innovation is the digitalization of services: residents of rural districts can now apply for veterinary certificate Form No. 1 via the Torttulik mobile application and receive the document on-site. This significantly reduces service delivery time and simplifies interaction with public services.

The site is also equipped with modern animal restraining systems (chutes), sanitary treatment baths, and designated areas for preventive livestock processing. These elements are particularly relevant during spring and autumn vaccination campaigns and enhance the efficiency and safety of veterinary procedures.

The minister emphasized the strategic importance of veterinary infrastructure development in rural areas, noting its direct impact on animal health, product safety, and the stability of the agricultural economy. He highlighted the need for continued systematic work to modernize the veterinary service.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 223 veterinary infrastructure facilities were built across Kazakhstan in 2024 alone. By the end of the current year, construction is planned to be completed on an additional 758 facilities, including 428 veterinary points, 233 animal burial grounds, and 97 slaughter points.

🔑 Key Highlights:
🔹 60 new veterinary points: several are already operating, 20 more will be completed in 2025.
🔹 Digitalization: Veterinary certificates (Form No. 1) can be issued via the Torttulik app.
🔹 Modern facilities: chutes, sanitary baths, and preventive care zones — all in place.
