KTZ has introduced a ban on loading grain cargo in containers through Altynkol station from January 11 to 20, 2025. This decision, formalized in order No. 46 dated January 6, 2025, is due to several factors, including the massive congestion of container trains and the need for track repairs and the construction of second tracks on the Moyynty-Dostyk section.

According to the order, the loading of all grain cargos in containers such as wheat, flax seeds, barley, oilseeds, cake, flour, compound feed, and bran is prohibited. These restrictions apply to all stations of the Kazakhstan Railways sending cargo to China via MGP Altynkol. As a result of this ban, a reduction in station infrastructure load is expected, along with more efficient completion of repair work.

Moreover, shippers who fail to meet their transportation plans during the specified period will be exempt from penalties for delivery delays. This will help reduce the burden on businesses and minimize the negative consequences caused by the imposed restrictions.

The measure is aimed at ensuring the normal operation of this crucial transport hub and improving the logistics situation amid the growing number of container trains, which currently exceed 90 trains.

🔑 Key Highligts:

🔹 Ban on loading grain in containers: The ban applies to all types of grain products, including wheat, barley, flax seeds, and processed products, through Altynkol station from January 11 to 20.

🔹 Exemption from penalties: Shippers will be exempt from penalties for failing to meet transport plans during the period from January 11 to 20, 2025.
