🌿 Aktobe Region: Livestock Poisoning Confirmed Due to High Alkaloid Content in Grass

1️⃣ A mass die-off of animals has been recorded at the "Sanjar-T" farm due to high levels of alkaloids found in pasture grass.

2️⃣ Laboratory tests have shown negative results for particularly dangerous diseases.

3️⃣ The farm, in cooperation with veterinary services, is actively working to control and prevent new cases, including regular diagnostics and vaccination.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports on the developments at the "Sanjar-T" farm, where a mass die-off of livestock occurred in early July this year. Laboratory tests conducted on August 1st revealed that the poisoning of animals was caused by elevated concentrations of alkaloids in the pasture grass. Concurrently, tests for particularly dangerous diseases yielded negative results, thereby ruling out infectious causes for the animal deaths.

In response to this incident, the farm management, in close cooperation with the veterinary services, has implemented a comprehensive set of anti-epizootic measures. Among the measures taken are the organization and execution of animal vaccinations and a series of diagnostic activities aimed at monitoring the health of the cattle. Health monitoring of the livestock is carried out daily by specialists. The epizootic situation is under strict supervision, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the animals and prevent further poisoning cases.
