John Deere Arrives in Kostanay: Kazakhstan Launches Local Production of Agricultural Machinery

A localized production facility for agricultural machinery under the John Deere brand has officially opened in the Kostanay region. The new production line includes self-propelled, trailed, and mounted equipment, made possible by the launch of the Localization Center at the AGROMASH plant — the largest industrial platform for agricultural machinery manufacturing in the country.

This project marks a significant milestone in the development of domestic engineering and the integration of advanced technologies into Kazakhstan's agricultural sector. The localization of products from one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery — the American company John Deere — opens new opportunities for both industry and the farming community.

According to Dinara Shukizhanova, President of AGROMASH, the successful implementation of this ambitious project became possible thanks to consistent economic and political reforms. She emphasized that such initiatives not only create new jobs and facilitate the transfer of innovative solutions but also contribute to the development of engineering thinking among Kazakhstani specialists, which is crucial for the sustainable growth of the sector.

The facilities at the Localization Center enable a full cycle of assembly and technical support for the equipment. In the near future, this will expand farmers' access to modern machinery adapted to Kazakhstan’s soil and climate, and allow them to purchase equipment under current government support programs.

John Deere’s official partner in Kazakhstan is Eurasia Group. As part of this new phase of cooperation, the company will continue distributing agricultural equipment — now locally produced — while also expanding service offerings and implementing digital solutions within the agro-industrial sector.

The project encompasses not only manufacturing but also educational objectives. Over the next five years, three modern service centers will be built across the country. These will serve as key platforms for training specialists such as agronomists, engineers, machine operators, and IT personnel necessary for the digital transformation of the sector. These centers are expected to play a strategic role in enhancing the efficiency and technological level of Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex.

In addition, AGROMASH plans to further expand industrial cooperation with Western manufacturers. The Localization Center already assembles equipment from major global brands including LOVOL, DEUTZ-FAHR, KIROVETS, GOMSELMASH, AMAZONE, CLAAS, and others. This allows for a significant increase in the share of localized machinery in the Kazakhstani market and helps build a solid foundation for technological sovereignty in the agricultural sphere.

As a result, the Kostanay region is solidifying its status as Kazakhstan’s key industrial and agricultural hub, becoming a center of innovation and industrial growth in Central Asia.
