The Iranian company Golrang Industrial Group is implementing projects in Kazakhstan to build an oil extraction plant and a poultry farm

The total investment volume will amount to about 120 million US dollars, and the projects are aimed at developing processing and increasing agricultural production

Kazakhstan continues to expand investment cooperation in the agro-industrial complex. As part of efforts to attract foreign investors, an agreement has been reached with the Iranian company Golrang Industrial Group to implement two major projects — the construction of an oil extraction plant and a meat-oriented poultry farm.

The agreements were reached during a meeting between Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenjekhanuly and the company’s head Fazli Mehdi Mohammadkarim. The total investment in the projects is estimated at approximately 120 million US dollars.

Representatives of Golrang Industrial Group emphasized their strategic interest in developing business operations in Kazakhstan. The company is currently considering regions for the localization of future production facilities.

The first project involves the construction of an oil extraction plant with a processing capacity of up to 3 thousand tons of sunflower per day. Direct investment in this facility is estimated at around 70 million US dollars. The implementation of the project will significantly increase the depth of agricultural raw material processing and enhance the added value of products.

The second area of cooperation is the construction of a meat-oriented poultry farm worth about 50 million US dollars. The project is focused on increasing production volumes and improving product quality.

The implementation of these joint initiatives takes place against the backdrop of strengthening bilateral cooperation. By the end of 2025, trade turnover in the agro-industrial sector between Kazakhstan and Iran increased by 55.8%, exceeding 341 million US dollars. At the same time, exports of Kazakh products, mainly grain crops such as wheat and barley, nearly doubled.

Participants of the meeting noted that the creation of joint processing facilities will become an important step in strengthening economic ties between the countries, as well as contribute to the development of the processing industry and the attraction of new technologies to Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.
