Kazakhstan to Quadruple Export of Processed Grain Products by 2029

Production volume to increase 12x; at least 2 new high-tech plants to be launched annually

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has published a draft of a new strategic document aimed at the large-scale development of the deep grain processing sector. According to the Comprehensive Plan for 2025–2029, the country aims to increase the export of value-added grain products by four times.

The draft government resolution, posted on the "Open NLA" portal, outlines key directions for sectoral growth. Among the priorities is the formation of high-tech and competitive enterprises that will enable Kazakhstan to enter the top 10 global exporters of deep grain processing products within the next decade.

The Ministry emphasizes that at least two new high-tech production facilities are planned to be launched annually, serving as growth drivers for the entire processing industry. As a result, by 2029, the volume of deeply processed grain products is expected to grow 12 times compared to 2024 levels.

Additionally, the share of exports in the structure of processed products is projected to quadruple by the end of the period if current figures remain stable.

The development of the Comprehensive Plan reflects Kazakhstan's intention not only to increase export volumes but also to shift the structure of exports toward high-value products. This initiative is expected to strengthen the country's position in the global agri-processing market and enhance the sector’s investment appeal.

🔑 Key Takeaways:
• Export of deep grain processing products expected to grow 4x by 2029
• Production volume to increase 12x; at least 2 new high-tech plants to be launched annually
• Goal: Enter the top 10 global suppliers of value-added grain products
