Kazakhstan Launches New Measures to Support Breeding Horse Industry

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has initiated the development of new regulations aimed at improving livestock breeding and enhancing the quality of products in this sector. The main focus of the project is on enhancing the genetic potential of the Kazakh breed of sport horses.

The project includes the implementation of three new subsidy directions. First, there is a plan to purchase breeding stallions from foreign selections to improve the genetic characteristics of Kazakh sport horses. Second, efforts to selectively enhance the maternal stock of this breed will be supported. Third, the costs of maintaining the breeding stock of Kazakh sport horses will be compensated.

Current regulations do not provide support for the Kazakh sport breed, as they are aimed at productive horse breeding. The new rules will change this situation, helping to preserve the Kostanay breed, increase its population, and develop national equestrian sports, as well as support the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people.

Additionally, the project includes the possibility of state support for farmers in Shymkent, working on agricultural lands of settlements. This will ensure the involvement of such farms in the state support system and the effective use of budget funds.

Thus, the implementation of the new subsidy rules will significantly strengthen the position of the Kazakh breed of sport horses, support the development of horse breeding, and improve conditions for agricultural production in the country.
