KTZh extends ban on export of agricultural products to China until 2024

National company KTZh has extended the ban on accepting certain types of agricultural products for transportation to China until January 1, 2024. This decision was made due to problems on the Chinese side, in particular, delays in unloading and processing cargo at the border.

According to official data, there has been a delay in unloading tank cars and grain trucks carrying such commodities as barley, wheat, oilseeds, mixed fodder, bran and oils at the Chinese station of Alashankou. At the moment, 42 tank cars and 390 grain trucks are stuck on the railroad tracks of China, and another 106 tank cars and 565 grain trucks with agricultural products are on the way to Dostyk station.

Due to these circumstances, KTZ amended an earlier order issued on December 12, 2023. According to the new order, the ban on accepting wheat, barley, oilseeds and other products for transportation is extended until the end of December 2023. Shippers are also granted an exemption from penalties for failing to comply with the December transportation plan due to these restrictions.
