Preferential Lending, Machinery, and Fertilizers: Akmola Region Ready for Sowing Season

37 thousand units of machinery to be engaged in the 2025 sowing campaign

An extended agricultural meeting was held in Kokshetau, bringing together over 600 participants, including heads of agricultural enterprises, representatives from scientific institutions, and government bodies. The key topic of the meeting was the region’s preparation for the upcoming sowing campaign, which traditionally plays a vital role in ensuring national food security.

Akim of Akmola Region, Marat Akhmetzhanov, emphasized that the region is one of the country’s strategic agricultural hubs with substantial potential in both crop and livestock production. According to him, a systematic approach to modernizing agriculture will allow the region not only to strengthen its position but also to contribute significantly to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector as a whole.
Vice Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov presented key directions of state support aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity in agriculture. He noted that the preferential sowing financing program, launched last year, continues in 2025. Thanks to the early launch of application submissions back in November, the campaign started off on solid ground.
The total amount available for concessional lending reached a record 700 billion tenge, significantly exceeding last year’s 580 billion. Funding has also increased in other areas: 200 billion tenge has been allocated for concessional machinery leasing and 30 billion tenge for forward procurement.

Special attention is being paid to agrochemical support and seed quality. This year, about 336 thousand tonnes of mineral fertilizers are planned to be applied to the soil, increasing the fertilized area by 78 thousand hectares compared to the previous year. Significant work has already been done to prepare seed stocks. As part of the Ken Dala program alone, 606 applications have been submitted totaling 96.5 billion tenge.
Overall, about 200 billion tenge has been allocated for the development of the agro-industrial complex in the Akmola Region in 2025, including 63.3 billion tenge in subsidies and around 140 billion for concessional lending and forward procurement.

Spring fieldwork will involve approximately 37,000 units of agricultural machinery. During the meeting, specific tasks were outlined: ensure 100% technical readiness of farms, organize timely deliveries of discounted diesel fuel, and accelerate seed renewal.
