LuLu Group plans to import Kazakh meat, grain, and dairy products to the UAE and Qatar

One of the Gulf region's largest retailers is interested in Kazakh products — from meat to dairy and grain

As part of the official visit of the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Kazakhstan, a key meeting took place between government and business representatives of the two countries. Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliev, and Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, held negotiations with the Chairman of the Board of LuLu Group, Yusuff Ali Musaliam Vayithil Abdul Kader.

LuLu Group, one of the largest retail chains in the Gulf region—including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar—has expressed strong interest in establishing direct cooperation with Kazakhstani producers. The discussions covered potential exports of a wide range of agricultural products, including beef, lamb, poultry, eggs, dairy, grain, and processed fruits.

The Kazakh side proposed establishing a logistics hub within Kazakhstan that would include sorting and packaging centers. This infrastructure would allow for efficient consolidation and shipment of export batches to the Gulf countries and beyond.

The ministers emphasized Kazakhstan's readiness to provide full support for the project, including selecting appropriate infrastructure, logistics, and governmental assistance throughout the implementation process.
Cooperation with LuLu Group is viewed as a strategic step toward boosting Kazakhstan's export potential and increasing the international visibility of local products.

Further solidifying the intentions, a memorandum of understanding was signed at the “Kazakhstan–UAE” business forum between LuLu Group and Alel Agro JSC—Kazakhstan's largest broiler poultry producer with an annual production capacity of up to 60,000 tons. The document is aimed at strengthening trade ties and promoting Kazakh agri-food products in foreign markets.
