National Chambers of Kazakhstan and Vietnam Agree on Partnership in the Agribusiness Sector
New Agribusiness Horizons: Kazakhstan and Vietnam Join Forces
Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex is preparing to implement a series of joint projects with Vietnamese partners. According to official data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, relevant agencies and business structures of the two countries have reached preliminary agreements on cooperation in the food industry and agriculture. A networking session organized by the Almaty branch of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" served as the institutional platform for the dialogue, with participation from the Association of Exporters of Kazakhstan, Almaty Invest, and the Vietnam Association of Entrepreneurs (ViNen).
The choice of Vietnam as a key partner in Southeast Asia is driven by its exceptional economic dynamics. According to analytical data presented by Serik Amirov, Special Representative of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with a population of approximately 102 million people, is currently the leader in GDP growth rates among ASEAN countries. The country ended last year with a growth rate of 8.02%, amounting to approximately 514 billion USD. The partner's investment climate is particularly attractive for the Kazakhstani agribusiness: by 2025, the volume of foreign investment in Vietnam's economy reached 38.4 billion USD, and the total foreign trade turnover exceeded 930 billion USD.
Vietnamese enterprises expressed specific interest in localizing production facilities within Kazakhstan. This opens opportunities for the domestic agricultural sector not only to attract capital but also to enter the vast Southeast Asian market. Dinh Viet Hoa, President of the ViNen Association, confirmed the intention to move interaction into a practical plane, emphasizing the organization of regular B2B events. This format will allow business circles of both countries to promptly work out the details of future projects and form stable supply chains for food products. It is expected that the systematic convergence of Kazakhstan and Vietnam's businesses will serve as a catalyst for the diversification of Kazakhstani agricultural exports in the long term.
