New capacities for pasta production and grain processing to appear in northern Kazakhstan

The projects are aimed at developing deep processing and reducing dependence on imports

An agreement has been reached with a Turkish company to launch a pasta production plant in the Kostanay region. At the same time, the investor plans to build a milling complex with an annual processing capacity of about 200 thousand tons of wheat. Both facilities will operate on the basis of Kaizen LLP, which was commissioned two years ago and specializes in the processing of legumes.

According to the regional akimat, after the implementation of the projects, the total production capacity of the enterprise will amount to about 400 thousand tons per year.

According to the akim of the Kostanay region, Kumar Aksakalov, the new production facilities are aimed at supplying the domestic market with locally produced deeply processed products, reducing dependence on imports of pasta products, as well as expanding export potential with access to neighboring markets.

Kaizen LLP was established through investments from the international Turkish holding Arbel. The enterprise processes peas, chickpeas, green and red lentils. The products are supplied both to the domestic market of Kazakhstan and exported to Turkey, Algeria, Afghanistan, and a number of European countries. According to the results of last year, the volume of production and exports amounted to 180 thousand tons.

The akimat also noted that the Kostanay region holds a leading position in the processing of agro-industrial complex products. By the end of 2025, the total export of processed agricultural products in Kazakhstan reached 8.1 million tons, of which 2.2 million tons came from the Kostanay region. Thus, the region's share in the export structure amounts to 27.2%.
