🌍 Food Security and Agrotechnologies: Kazakhstan at the International Forum in Tashkent

🔹 Kazakhstan has doubled its agricultural exports in the past five years, reaching $5.4 billion, and aims to increase this figure to $10 billion in the coming years.

🔹 The implementation of advanced agricultural technologies and the growth of investments in agriculture (up to $2.2 billion) enhance the country's competitiveness in international markets.

🔹 Kazakhstan has initiated the development of a Strategic Plan for Food Security in Central Asia until 2030 and is actively implementing "green economy" principles.

At the International Forum in Tashkent, dedicated to food security and sustainable development in landlocked developing countries, Kazakhstan presented its achievements and strategic plans in the agricultural sector. Vice Minister of Agriculture, Yermek Kenzhekhanuly, represented Kazakhstan and spoke before delegates from 32 countries and international organizations, including FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu.

The forum focused on solving issues related to logistics, agricultural trade, and ensuring food security in countries without direct access to the sea. Participants discussed regional and global challenges affecting food security and sought ways to overcome them.

Kazakhstan stands out as a regional leader in agricultural production, which is valued at $20 billion, with processed products amounting to $6 billion. The country has achieved a steady growth in labor productivity in the agro-industrial sector, with an annual increase of 20%.

A major achievement for Kazakhstan has been the near doubling of agricultural exports over the past five years, reaching $5.4 billion. In the coming years, the goal is to double this figure to $10 billion. This growth is driven by the adoption of advanced agricultural technologies, irrigation systems, and digital solutions, along with the creation of modern dairy and meat complexes.

Investment attractiveness in the sector continues to rise: over the past five years, investments in Kazakhstan's agriculture have doubled, reaching $2.2 billion by 2023. Kazakhstan plans to strengthen its position in international markets, enhancing the competitiveness of its agri-food sector amidst global food demand.

One of the strategic directions for the country's development is the initiative to create a Strategic Plan for Food Security in Central Asia until 2030. Environmental aspects also play an important role, as Kazakhstan actively integrates "green economy" principles into its agro-industrial sector.

Alongside plenary sessions, participants of the forum signed several mutually beneficial agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security.
