Kazhydromet Reported on Weather Conditions Expected in June

Hot weather will periodically give way to cooler days accompanied by rainfall and thunderstorms

According to the advisory forecast issued by Kazhydromet, the average air temperature across most of Kazakhstan in June is expected to be 1–2 degrees Celsius above the climatic norm. In the western regions, temperatures are forecast to remain close to long-term averages.

Precipitation levels are expected to remain near normal across most of the country. However, some areas in western and northwestern Kazakhstan may receive above-average rainfall.

During the first ten days of June, weather conditions across much of Kazakhstan will be influenced by cyclones and associated atmospheric fronts. As a result, unstable weather is expected, including short-term rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squally winds. Heavy precipitation is possible in parts of the northwest.

Dust storms may occur on certain days in the southern and southwestern regions of the country.

Meteorologists expect a gradual rise in temperatures at the beginning of the month. In western, southwestern Kazakhstan and Aktobe Region, nighttime temperatures will increase from 6–12°C to 13–22°C, while daytime temperatures will rise from 15–25°C to 27–32°C. In the southwest, temperatures may locally reach 35°C.

In northern Kazakhstan and Kostanay Region, temperatures are expected to fluctuate from 11–16°C to 15–20°C at night and from 21–26°C to 28–33°C during the day. In southern regions, nighttime temperatures will change from 17–25°C to 13–18°C, while daytime temperatures will decrease from intense heat of 33–40°C to 23–31°C. In southeastern Kazakhstan, intense heat is expected to gradually weaken from 33–38°C to 20–27°C.

At the beginning of the first decade, daytime temperatures in eastern and central regions may reach 33–39°C. During the remainder of the period, temperatures in these areas are expected to average 13–20°C at night and 25–33°C during the day.

During the second and third decades of June, periods of hot weather will alternate with cooler and rainy conditions. Thunderstorms, stronger winds, hail, and dust storms are possible in some regions.

The temperature regime will remain unstable. In western, northern, central, and eastern Kazakhstan, nighttime temperatures will range from 8–18°C to 15–25°C, while daytime temperatures will vary from 28–33°C to intense heat of 35–39°C. In central regions, temperatures may reach an extreme 42°C on certain days.

In the southern half of Kazakhstan, nighttime temperatures will fluctuate between 14–23°C and 20–28°C, while daytime temperatures will range from 28–33°C to 34–40°C. On some days, extremely hot conditions of up to 40–46°C are forecast.
