Viktor Aslanov: "Kazakhstan can enhance aid to Afghanistan through increased non-graded grain purchases"
Farmers in Kazakhstan have praised the government's decision to introduce higher prices for grain, including non-graded varieties, reports the "APK News" agency. Viktor Aslanov, head of the country's Grain Growers Union, highlighted several benefits of the new measures. One of the main advantages is the potential for credit compensation from Prodcorporation using financial resources, a subject that has long been a focal point for agrarians.
Aslanov also emphasized the appeal of the pricing on non-graded grain, which farmers have shown a keen interest in. The head of the Union clarified that it was the farmers who insisted on a purchase volume of 350,000 tons. However, despite taking their wishes into account, the farmers hope to see an increase in this figure in the future. Viktor Aslanov believes that the additional grain should be directed to assist Afghanistan, especially in light of the recent tragic events in the country.
Kazakhstan recently announced its commitment to providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. Aslanov underscored that Kazakhstan has the capability to boost its supply volumes without significant financial expenses, marking an essential step in supporting the Afghan people.
