🚆 New Tariffs for Grain Rail Transport: What Farmers Need to Know

🔹 Starting September 20, 2024, "KTZh-Cargo Transportation" LLP is introducing new tariffs for railway transportation: the coefficient for electric traction is 603.14, and for diesel traction – 642.91.

🔹 "Astyk Trans" is adjusting the cost of providing wagons from September 15 due to increased maintenance costs and inflation.

🔹 These changes could significantly affect farmers' transport costs and require a review of logistical plans for the upcoming season.

"KTZh-Cargo Transportation" LLP is introducing updated tariffs for railway transport services starting from September 20, 2024, affecting both domestic and international (export-import) shipments. The changes specifically concern tariffs for locomotive traction and related services. Grain transportation by electric traction will be carried out at a coefficient of 603.14, while diesel traction will have a coefficient of 642.91. These changes are likely to have a significant impact on the agricultural market, particularly for grain producers and exporters, who will need to reassess their logistics costs.

These changes reflect a general trend of rising transportation costs, driven by increased expenses for infrastructure maintenance and operation. The adoption of these measures highlights the need for careful planning of logistics and financial strategies for the upcoming agricultural season.

Additionally, earlier, "Astyk Trans" JSC announced an adjustment in the cost of providing wagons starting September 15, 2024, as reported by "APK News." This decision was prompted by several factors, including the rise in maintenance, rental, and repair costs for wagons, as well as longer wagon turnover times on the railway, which have negatively impacted the company’s profitability.

Furthermore, inflation has contributed to the overall increase in service costs, including the purchase of new grain carriers. The company noted that adjusting the tariffs is necessary to ensure the safety and uninterrupted flow of transportation, as well as to support the further development of transport infrastructure for the new season.
