A new deep grain processing plant to be built in the Akmola region

The construction of the plant will create new jobs and support infrastructure development

As part of implementing the поручения of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the development of the agro-industrial complex, the Government of Kazakhstan has approved the signing of an investment agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Asia Altyn Dan LLP. The document предусматривает the implementation of a project to build a deep grain processing plant in the Akmola region. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

The facility will be constructed in the Aqmola industrial zone on a территории of 500 hectares. The project involves the creation of a modern high-tech complex focused on biotechnological and waste-free grain processing. In terms of scale, it will become one of the largest facilities in the processing sector of the agro-industrial complex.

The total investment volume is estimated at 300 billion tenge. The plant’s production capacity will reach up to 6 million tons of products per year.

The project is expected to deliver a comprehensive economic effect. It provides for the organization of a full-cycle grain processing system with the production of high value-added products — from flour and groats to ready-made animal feed. This will help diversify exports, increase the use of local raw materials, and reduce import dependency.

The project will have a significant impact on the socio-economic development of the region. Around 800 new jobs are expected to be created at the enterprise. The investor will also undertake obligations to train qualified specialists, including up to 40 people annually in the field of bioengineering. Training will be carried out through a continuous education system, including international exchanges and overseas internships.

In addition, a modern research and technological laboratory is planned to be established at the plant. The investor will also invest in the development of external engineering and utility infrastructure of the industrial zone.

In the future, after the plant is commissioned, it is planned to build an overpass with a road interchange on the Astana–Karaganda highway, as well as a road connecting the industrial zone to the main railway line.

The investor also intends to actively participate in the development of the region’s social infrastructure. After the project reaches full capacity, funds will be allocated annually to support initiatives in education, culture, mass sports, youth policy, and healthcare.

Additionally, within two years after the plant is launched, a multifunctional sports and wellness complex with a swimming pool and martial arts halls will be built, which will be accessible to the public.

Overall, the launch of the plant is expected to enhance the country’s food and economic security, increase the share of processed products in exports, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a supplier of high-tech agro-industrial products.
