Kazakhstan increases grain exports to the EU via Poland

Expansion of logistics capabilities supports the growth of grain shipments

In 2026, cooperation between the railway administrations of Kazakhstan and Poland has shown steady growth. Following the results of the first quarter, the total volume of rail transportation between the two countries increased by 1.5 times, reaching 752 thousand tons.

A positive trend is also observed in the structure of Kazakhstan’s exports: grain shipments have grown significantly, reflecting strong demand from European markets. This was reported by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

A working meeting was held in Kazakhstan between the Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Talgat Aldybergenov, and the Chairman of the Management Board of Polish State Railways, Alan Beroud, who also heads the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER). During the переговоры, the parties discussed prospects for further bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

In addition, a wide range of issues aimed at deepening strategic cooperation between the railway systems of the two countries was considered. Particular attention was paid to the development of freight transportation and interaction between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Polish railway carriers.

At the same time, Kazakhstan’s role as a key transit hub continues to strengthen. In January–March 2026, container transportation along the China–Poland route increased by 44%, reaching 75.4 thousand TEU.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation within the Trans-Caspian route.
