A memorandum on the development of dairy farming has been signed between Kazakhstan and Denmark

The parties agreed to expand supplies of breeding cattle and introduce advanced technologies in Kazakhstan’s dairy farming

Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Amangaliy Berdalin took part in a Kazakhstan-Denmark round table during a working visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, dedicated to the development of cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, representatives of government bodies, business circles and профиль organizations discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment ties, confirming mutual interest in developing long-term and mutually beneficial partnership.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, especially the development of dairy farming. As part of the event, Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities were presented, along with projects of Kazakh and Danish companies.

Following the discussions, key areas of further cooperation of interest to the business communities of both countries were identified. One of the practical outcomes was the signing of a memorandum between the Danish Holstein breeding association and the Republican Chamber of dairy and dual-purpose cattle breeds “QazaqSut”.

The document provides for the organization of stable supplies of high-productivity breeding cattle from Denmark, as well as the introduction of advanced Danish technologies in Kazakhstan’s dairy farming. This area of cooperation has already demonstrated its effectiveness: from 2011 to 2025, 10,780 heads of Danish breeding cattle were imported into the country.

Since the beginning of 2026, supplies have continued within the framework of new investment projects and industry development programs.

Commenting on the results of the meeting, Amangaliy Berdalin noted that the agreements reached and the signed memorandum will become an important step in deepening practical cooperation between Kazakhstan and Denmark and will give an additional impetus to the technological development of agro-industrial cooperation.

As part of the working program, the Vice Minister also held meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries of Denmark, as well as the Danish Agriculture and Food Council.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for introducing modern Danish technologies in dairy farming, including plans to import highly productive breeding dairy cattle. Particular attention was paid to issues of veterinary safety, deep processing of agricultural products, expansion of mutual trade, and attracting Danish investments to Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.

In addition, issues of technology transfer, localization of production and creation of competence centers in dairy farming were considered, aimed at increasing productivity, implementing modern farm management methods and developing the human resources potential of the industry.

During the visit, Amangaliy Berdalin also met with representatives of DanBred, FOSS, Kongskilde Industries, Vilomix, Viking Genetics, Caspian Advisory and Kurt Nisgaard Asp, who expressed interest in implementing joint investment projects in Kazakhstan.
