Russia Extends Sunflower Export Duties Until 2028
Export restrictions on sunflower seeds and their processed products in Russia will remain in force for another two years. The Subcommittee on Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has approved the extension of these duties until August 31, 2028.
According to the decision, the export duty on sunflower seeds will stay unchanged at 50%, but not less than 32,000 rubles per ton. For sunflower oil and sunflower meal, a “floating” duty rate will continue to apply. This rate is calculated as 70% of the difference between the indicative export price and the base price.
The ministry emphasized that the extension of these measures will help restrain the growth of domestic sunflower oil prices and ensure the availability of sunflower meal for the livestock industry amid volatility in global markets.
According to the commission, this step will provide greater predictability for market participants and support stable long-term market development.
