Southern Kazakhstan strengthens its position in the sugar industry

Launch of new projects will increase the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex

In the southern regions of Kazakhstan, a significant expansion of sugar industry capacity and the development of agro-industrial infrastructure are planned. This was announced during a meeting between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Zhetysu region akim Beibit Isabayev, where key directions for the development of the regional agro-industrial complex were presented.

According to the regional head, the area of agricultural crops has been expanded, including sugar beet cultivation. At the same time, modernization of the Aksu and Koksu sugar plants is underway, with plans to double their capacity to 950 thousand tons.

In addition, by 2027, 23 investment projects with a total value of 94.4 billion tenge are planned to be implemented in the Zhetysu region. Priority areas include the construction of poultry farms, feedlots, and other agro-industrial facilities.
