Government expands support measures for the agricultural sector

Additional funding for grain transportation and new credit support mechanisms aim to enhance sector stability

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has instructed to strengthen support for the agro-industrial complex, including additional funding for grain transportation and expanding access to borrowed funds.

In particular, the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture have been tasked with working out the allocation of additional funds to cover expenses related to grain transportation.

As part of the implementation of a loan guarantee mechanism in livestock and crop production, the Ministries of Agriculture, Finance, and National Economy, together with the Baiterek holding, have been instructed to identify funding sources and ensure the required volume of financing.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to improve access to financial resources for farmers. For this purpose, it is proposed to grant social and entrepreneurial corporations the authority to finance agribusiness entities both for investment purposes and for replenishing working capital.

In this regard, the Ministries of Agriculture and National Economy, jointly with the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition, have been instructed to introduce relevant amendments to the Government resolution within two weeks.
