More than 16 million hectares sown during Kazakhstan’s planting campaign

Farmers continue spring fieldwork, deploying more than 133,000 tractors and thousands of units of planting equipment

Spring field operations are ongoing across Kazakhstan. According to operational data provided by regional administrations, agricultural crops have currently been sown on 16.3 million hectares, representing 77% of the planned area.

Grain crops account for the largest share of planted land, covering 11.2 million hectares. Oilseeds have been planted on 3.6 million hectares, forage crops on 973.2 thousand hectares, cotton on 167.6 thousand hectares, potatoes on 116.9 thousand hectares, vegetables on 112 thousand hectares, melons on 81.1 thousand hectares, and sugar beet on 22 thousand hectares.

The planting campaign is progressing most actively in the country's key grain-producing regions. A total of 4.1 million hectares have been sown in Akmola Region, 3.7 million hectares in Kostanay Region, and 2.7 million hectares in North Kazakhstan Region.

To carry out field operations, farmers are utilizing more than 133.9 thousand tractors, around 5.6 thousand high-performance seeding complexes, 71.4 thousand seeders, and 188.5 thousand units of tillage equipment. Technical support for agricultural producers is provided by 70 service centers.
