🌾 Grain Harvest in Russia by Mid-September Significantly Below Last Year's Level

🔹 As of September 18, 102 million tons of grain have been harvested, which is 17.8 million tons less than last year due to unfavorable weather conditions.

🔹 The harvest of oilseeds shows positive results: 3.7 million tons of sunflower have been harvested, significantly higher than last year's figures.

🔹 Winter crop sowing for the 2025 harvest has been carried out on 7.5 million hectares, slightly below last year's level.

By September 18, 2024, 102 million tons of grain and leguminous crops have been harvested in Russia, which is 17.8 million tons less compared to the same period last year when this figure was 119.8 million tons. The main reason for the decrease in yield was adverse weather conditions, which significantly affected the pace and volume of the harvest. So far, grain crops have been harvested from 75% of the planned area.

Despite the decline in grain indicators, the harvest of oilseeds shows positive dynamics. Sunflower harvest reached 3.7 million tons, which is significantly higher than last year's 1.4 million tons. There is also growth in rapeseed harvest — by mid-September, more than 3 million tons were harvested, compared to 2.7 million tons last year.

It is still too early to draw final conclusions on other crops, as harvesting continues. Meanwhile, winter crop sowing for the 2025 harvest has been carried out on 7.5 million hectares, slightly below last year's figure of 7.9 million hectares. The total planned area for winter crops is about 20 million hectares, which is in line with last year's level.
