🌾 Grain and Oilseeds Trade: The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Proposes a Strategy for Farmers

🔹 Barley prices are falling due to increased supply, but producers are trying to maintain stability at the current level.

🔹 High-quality wheat is in deficit, with farmers holding onto stocks, preventing prices from dropping. No major changes are expected in the near future.

🔹 Oilseeds remain stable, but future developments depend on the harvest and global demand.

The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the research bureau "Grain and Oilseeds. Kazakhstan," has presented current recommendations for agricultural producers, taking into account the market situation. This year, weather conditions, including continuous rains in some regions, have had a significant impact on the harvesting campaign, leading to uncertainty in price formation. Importers are forced to operate on incomplete data, which results in a wide range of price quotes.

The first key trend is the increase in barley supply and the resulting drop in forage grain prices. Prices have reached a certain level, and producers are trying to maintain them, despite the unstable market situation.

The second trend is the deficit of high-quality wheat. Kazakhstani farmers prefer to hold onto such volumes, which stabilizes prices and prevents them from dropping significantly. No major changes in wheat prices are expected in the near future.

In the oilseeds segment, a similar situation is observed. Prices for soybeans with basic protein content remain at last year's level, and significant changes are not expected. The safflower harvest is moving to the western regions, which has caused slight price changes, similar to those seen in the southern regions.

Initial prices for flax, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds remain at last year's level, indicating stability in this market segment. However, further developments will depend on the progress of the harvest campaign and international demand.

Experts recommend that grain producers, particularly those dealing with high-quality milling wheat, refrain from active sales and wait for more favorable price conditions. For barley and other grain crops, trading should be conducted as needed, based on current market trends.

For oilseed producers, such as flax, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds, a cautious approach is also recommended. Sales should be made only as needed, avoiding rushed decisions.

The "Grain and Oilseeds. Kazakhstan" research bureau emphasizes that these recommendations are based on the current market analysis, but changes in weather conditions and international markets may impact the situation. Producers should closely monitor developments and adjust their strategies based on evolving conditions.
